Snake Creek Trail System: Forest Riding Near Midway, Utah

Just over an hour from Utah Motorsports in Lehi, the Snake Creek Trail System offers some of the most scenic and forested OHV riding in northern Utah. Located in the Wasatch Mountain State Park, this trail network winds through pines, aspen groves, and mountain meadows — making it a perfect summer destination for ATVs, SxS, and dirt bikes.

🧭 Directions: Take I-15 north to Alpine Highway (UT-92), then connect through Heber Valley to Midway. The trail access is just west of Midway off Snake Creek Canyon Road.


 Trail Overview & Riding Conditions

The Snake Creek system offers well-maintained forest roads and moderate elevation gain with beautiful mountain views. It's a favorite among riders looking for a peaceful ride without the extreme difficulty of more technical terrain.

 Trail Difficulty:

  • Beginner to Intermediate

  • Mostly wide trails with some narrow and rocky sections

  • Elevation: ~6,000–8,500 ft

  • Terrain: Packed dirt, forest soil, rocky spots

  •  Vault toilets at trailheads and campground areas

  •  No day-use fee required for Snake Creek access via Midway, but some areas in the park may require a pass

  • Scenic Overlooks – views of Heber Valley and Deer Creek Reservoir

  • Wildlife Viewing – deer, elk, fox, and wild turkeys
