About 45 minutes southwest of Lehi, this area offers a unique mix of desert trails, historic ghost towns, and open high-desert exploration.

Getting There

Main access point is Eureka, Utah via Highway 6. About 50 miles and 45–55 minutes from Utah Motorsports in Lehi.

Trail Overview

The Tintic Mining District was one of Utah's largest silver, lead, and gold mining regions in the late 1800s. Many original mine shafts, tailings, and historic buildings still stand along the trails today — making it a ride through time.

  • Elevation: 5,500–7,000 ft
  • Terrain: Desert scrub, dirt roads, old mining roads, some rocky sections
  • Skill Level: Beginner to Intermediate
  • Wide-open roads & singletrack options

Notable Features

  • Abandoned Mine Shafts — fenced for safety, but visible
  • Ghost Town Buildings — Eureka, Mammoth, and Silver City
  • Open Desert Roads — perfect for long SxS rides
  • High Vistas — clear views of Utah Valley on clear days

Do not enter mine shafts or disturb historical structures — many are unstable and protected.

Camping & Amenities

  • Dispersed camping allowed in most BLM areas
  • RV-friendly areas just outside of Eureka
  • No restrooms at trailheads — come prepared
  • Limited to no cell reception on trail

Bring a trail map or GPS app — some trail markers are faded due to age and erosion.
