Little Moab: Epic Rock Crawling & OHV Riding Near Utah Valley

~40 minutes from Lehi (20 miles)
Difficulty:Intermediate–Advanced
Vehicles:ATVs, SxS, Rock Crawlers, Dirt Bikes

Little Moab is famous for its slickrock-style terrain, similar to what you'll find in Moab — but much closer to the Wasatch Front. Located south of Eagle Mountain, it's one of the best technical riding spots in Utah Valley.

Getting There

Take Redwood Road south → Turn right on UT-73 → Head west toward Eagle Mountain → Follow directions to Little Moab via the Five Mile Pass area and Burraston Road.

Trail Features

  • Rocky sandstone slabs — ideal for technical rock crawling
  • Surrounding dirt trails for dirt bikes, four-wheelers, and SxS vehicles
  • Open riding area — ride where your skills allow
  • Skill Level: Intermediate to Advanced (especially for rock crawlers)
  • Best Time to Ride: Spring and Fall (summer can get hot)

Sunset and golden hour rides here are Instagram gold — don't forget your camera!

What Makes Little Moab Unique

  • "Mini-Moab" Vibes — slickrock and crawling obstacles like big-name Moab trails
  • Close to Utah Valley — no need for a full weekend road trip
  • Great for Testing Mods — perfect for suspension, tires, and rock armor
  • Open Access — no permits or fees required

Camping

Dispersed camping is free and allowed. The area is managed by the BLM, so you can set up anywhere near the base of the rock outcroppings.

  • No restrooms, water, or facilities — pack in, pack out
  • Fire pits are common, but always check fire restrictions
  • Stay on durable surfaces and respect the land
